Twitter is quickly becoming one of the most powerful free web 2.0 tools that any internet marketer and business owner could possibly use. However, many internet marketers who have been exposed to twitter use it in the wrong way.
How Is It Possible To Misuse Twitter?
Believe me, plenty of people have no idea how to use twitter. The biggest no-no when it comes to using twitter is strictly using it as an ad. Do not constantly send people to your website and basically get in a shouting match with all of the other internet marketers out there that do nothing but say my business and my team is better than yours. You will not have success and you won’t win that battle.
Another mistake people make is thinking that twitter can completely replace a blog. Twitter is definitely a great way to attract target traffic to your website but it’s not going to replace a blog. So I’m sure you’re wondering…
How Am I Supposed To Use Twitter?
You have to think about why twitter was created in the first place. It’s a way to connect with people and be involved with a community of people who share common interest. Share article or stories that you found interesting with other people who you think would like them. I’ve personally used twitter to keep in contact with my P90X workout buddies. It’s a social networking site so you have to treat it that way.
Make sure that you interact and give value to the community of internet marketers. This is why it’s so important to invest in your education and build on your value because if all you can do is tell people how create your opportunity is you’ll never have success. When you write articles, blog posts, shoot video and produce other content you can link your twitter posts to your content. This is giving to the community through content which essentially builds a relationship with people. Your content might have a link to your actual business or website or it can be linked to your blog which is involved with your business.
Not like I mentioned above you can’t replace your blog with twitter. Yes twitter is called microblogging but your blog will allow you to have much more freedom with what you write. Twitter should be used as an outer spoke of your wheel of content, which essentially leads to your blog or business website. If you take the time to build a community around your content then you’ll see a massive increase in the targeted traffic visiting your website or blog.
